Yokoyama Garden

Yokoyama Garden

A historic private estate in Komono. The garden was designed by Mirei Shigemori, a master of modern Japanese landscape architecture. The front garden features a dry landscape (Karesansui) while the rear garden is an avant-garde masterpiece inspired by scenery viewed from a moving train. This private property is typically closed to the public.

Overseas guests will enjoy a Matcha Tea Experience in the authentic tea room. *Matcha experience is for the 2-day plan only; Day Trip includes garden viewing only.

Sosuikyo (Villa Resort)

Sosuikyo

Located at the foot of the Suzuka Mountains, this resort represents the historic Yunoyama Onsen. It features 12 exclusive villas, each themed after 8 traditional materials like wood, stone, and washi paper. Adorned with contemporary and antique art, the space feels like a living museum. Every villa includes a private open-air hot spring bath (Onsen). Dinner options include Kappo-style Japanese, aged steak, or Italian.

A 220-year-old traditional residence dedicated to preserving the "Japanese origin of life." Here, you can experience the traditional way of living centered around the "Okudo" (wood-burning stove). Taste the exceptional flavor of rice cooked over an open fire, a ritual passed down through generations.*Day trip includes the rice ball workshop and lunch only.

Sashikan Kumiko Studio

Sashikan Kumiko Studio

Explore the world of Kumiko, a delicate woodworking technique developed since the Muromachi period. Craftsmen assemble intricate geometric patterns using thousands of tiny wooden pieces without a single nail. Some masterpieces contain over 100,000 individual parts. You will have the opportunity to create your own Kumiko coaster to take home.

Shoboji Temple

Shoboji Temple

A serene temple at the base of Mt. Fujiwara. Originally founded in the early Heian period, the current structures date back to the mid-Edo period. The garden features a pond-stroll style believed to date back to the Heian period. The grounds house a sacred waterfall once used for purification rituals. It is a perfect place for quiet reflection.

Odaka Kannon

Odaka Kannon

A hexagonal hall standing at the end of a straight path lined with cedar trees. This temple was restored through the dedicated efforts of local residents. A symbolic community landmark, the hall enshrines a Thousand-Armed Kannon statue, said to be carved by Prince Shotoku (574–622), one of the most celebrated figures in Japanese history who is revered as the father of Japanese Buddhism.
