The Features Zuiganji Temple

Zuiganji Temple is the family temple of the Date clan and stands as a magnificent masterpiece of Momoyama period architecture. Its ornate carvings and exquisite paintings on sliding doors or alcoves represent the pinnacle of Japanese artistic beauty. Following a major restoration project that began in September 2009 the main hall was fully reopened to the public on April 5 2016.

Senshin-an

Senshin-an is a welcoming rest stop conveniently located near Zuiganji Temple and Entsuin Temple. We offer a wide variety of Matsushima souvenirs and a selection of local dishes. In our open dining area facing the approach to the temples you can enjoy light meals or lunch while feeling the seasonal beauty of the surrounding nature.

Matsushima Bay Cruise

Unlike the views from land a bay cruise allows you to experience the dynamic natural beauty of Matsushima while feeling the sea breeze and the scent of the ocean. The cruise operates in the calm waters of the bay so there is almost no need to worry about seasickness. You will have a close-up view of famous islands including Niojima and Kanejima and Senkanjima and Oshima and Futagojima.

Tour Staff / Guide
No tour conductor will accompany the group. However a professional English-speaking guide will provide assistance from the meeting point until the end of the tour.

Included in the Tour Fee:
Meal expenses / entrance fees / experience fees / and consumption tax as specified in the itinerary are included.

Not Included (At your own expense):
Any meals or transportation costs not mentioned in the itinerary and all personal expenses incurred during the tour must be paid by the participant.

Arrival Guide:
Please provide your name to the staff at the meeting point before boarding the bus. We will depart exactly as scheduled so we kindly ask for your cooperation in being punctual.

・If the number of participants does not reach the minimum required we may cancel the tour. In such cases we will notify you at least 3 days prior to the departure date and provide a full refund of your payment.
・During this tour, if natural disasters, wars, riots, suspension of services rendered by transportation/accommodation facilities, governmental orders or other reasons beyond the Company's control happen, they become impossible to carry out the trip safely and smoothly or the tour may be cancelled if there is a strong possibility that the tour will be impossible. We do not guarantee transportation fees from your home to the departure/arrival point, cancellation charges of accommodation etc. due to cancellation of the tour.
